Manchester City – City in the community tournament

Wednesday, 13th October saw the second round of the MCFC ‘City in the Community’ tournament where Reddish Hall were entered into the Premier League side of the competition.  Calen Ford captained the team which consisted of students from Year 7 to 10 with Mr Beard taking on the role of manages and Drew Lomax as assistant coach.

Despite drawing their first game then losing narrowly in their next two, which included some excellent saves by our goalkeepers, our players dug in deep to end up finishing the tournament with three wins on the bounce.  Calen Ford started the scoring off with an excellent penalty take just after lunch which led to our players showing solidarity and hard work to finish the tournament on a high.  Overall our pupils displayed excellent sportsmanship with each other through playing out of roles to give everyone equal opportunities, coaching one another and motivating others especially when games were not going their way – well done Reddish!
