During the summer term 2018-19 all Key Stage three students learnt about human rights and the United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child. They learnt about how children around the world are denied their rights and considered what we can do to help. This resulted in students taking part in the Send My Friend to School campaign and everyone made a key that would ‘unlock’ education for the 262 million children in the world that do not have access to education. One of the UN’s sustainable Global Goals that our country has signed up to work toward all children having a quality education. We invited Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish so that we students could present him with the keys and he can than take them to parliament and give them to the Foreign Secretary of State. Well done to all the pupils that were involved. They made us all very proud as they showed how mature and considerate they all are. Well done!
