What a difference a year makes! When I started at Reddish Hall School we had a small polytunnel and the garden was a blank canvas. The pupils have worked hard with the planning and planting in the garden, to develop the area. We have grown a variety of fruit and vegetables mainly from seed. Created a wildflower garden to attract butterflies and bees – of which we have seen lots of bees and a few butterflies.
All classes from primary through to secondary have worked in the garden.
We have currently had a second polytunnel installed which will provide us with some cover for working over the winter months and act as a workshop.
We have had a really good first growing season and really enjoyed seeing the garden progress.
