On what started out as a lovely dry and sunny day in July Mr Norbury and Mr Lomax set off from school and head for the hills in order to provide students with the opportunity to complete a practice hike for their DofE bronze award. The aim of the day was two-fold. We wanted students to feel comfortable in remote surroundings and also to give them the opportunity to improve their map reading skills. Despite the weather quickly changing and becoming very dull everyone had a great time and learnt a wealth new skills. The changing weather gave students a insight into understanding about why so much equipment should be carried when walking in remote areas.
Well done everyone. Get ready for your expedition in the Autumn term!
