Key Stage 4 have begun their vocational qualification, City and Guilds in horticulture and animal care. They are attending Reddish Vale High School Farm every Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon under the instruction of Caroline Hulme.
The first unit has focused on health and safety and students have had the opportunity to put their health and safety knowledge to the test with moving heavy objects, cleaning out animals and feeding them. The alpacas have been a big hit, along with the rare breed sheep, goats and guinea pigs!
They’ve begun the Reddish Hall raised beds where we’ll hopefully harvest vegetables in the future that can be used in our food tech lessons!
